What A Wreck
Moving might just be one of my least favorite activities... now, unpacking, that's a different story. I enjoy going from the chaos back to the organization. The idea of starting afresh, all over, is pleasing for some reason. I suppose that desire is probably inherent in all of us. In a sense, moving is like new creation. Going from order, to chaos, back to a newly refined order of life... hopefully! However, the chaos can sometimes be overwhelming. In my mind, I feel no need to clean at the moment, because a major overhaul in cleaning will take place after I'm packed. Therefore, because of this reality, this place is a wreck. The kitchen is horrible, my room is so messy (which isn't that far from normal, this year I resorted back to my messy self, soon to end in Boston), the living room is a clutter of boxes intertwined with random things that need to be boxed...and random bits of things here and there. The only thing that somewhat resembles sanity in appearance is my bathroom - which is only a magic trick because it's picked up, but far from a sanitary. Only a few more days though and everything I own will be residing in my parent's garage, waiting for their new home... a packing van, and then, the purple palace. The days are counting down to August the fifteenth!
Oh I forgot to mention, there is one thing that remains in full functioning, organized order - our collection of bottles!

I FEEL you on this! I have moved EVERY FLIPPIN YEAR for the last 4 years and I'm telling you...I'm bout ready to be settled already! One good thing about moving frequently, you don't accumulate a lot of junk. Everytime I move, I clean out stuff. This keeps me simple...but what a pain in the ARSE!
That's the truth, I have like four bags of trash - why do I keep all this stuff? I have decided that I'm going to marry a girl that is like an "anti-packrat" so I will be forced to break this habit, I hate it. Ugh, I see one more thing to throw away this very second
DON'T LEAVE!!! I'LL MISS YOU TOO MUCH!!!!
I must leave...it is... my... destiny!! Just like eating peanut butter toast - speaking of which!!
tyler,
i'm not so sure its the move, but the powerbook. now, lets be honest. you are spending so much time enjoying the new toy that cleaning up stuff just isn't that important anymore. i did notice the random apple/mac boxes in the photos of your bedroom...
seriously, i agree. sometimes i think of selling my house just to move for movings sake - for that reason - out with the old, in with the new (how's that for over-spiritualization?)
cheers! please, please, please add an amstel light to your bottle collection...

So after looking at the pictures should I be worried that I am getting a messy new housemate? :-)
Oh brooks, brooks, brooks...You'll just have to wait to see!
Nah, I'm actually pretty clean - I've actually color coded all my packing boxes according to weight (I must be crazy or bored)...I'm like a regular Mr. Belvedere - of course, all evidence to the contrary!
