"And Go...Downtown!"

Went for a bit of traveling this Labor Day weekend - it was definitely a fun trip. I came home Monday around noon and haven't been as tired in a long time. I was so exhausted I laid on the couch half conscious a shade past four hours - you know the feeling where you're almost too tired to know if you really slept, time just disappeared and when you awake you feel refreshed and yet as though you were just hit by a sledgehammer to the face. Nevermind all that...anyway, in Chicago I did quite aq few fun things. I arrived Friday night after a long day at school, I was super excited and in good spirits. Searcy, Tom, and I went to a traditional pizza restaurant for dinner and then played Star Wars Clone Wars for the rest of night...or morning since we didn't really go to bed. Saturday consisted of a little Quiznos, napping, Spider-Man 2 on Xbox (which absolutely rocks - I'm not a huge game fan but when I get hooked, I'm hooked, oh I loved it, my highest recommendation) We had planned on going to Sister Hazel on Saturday night but got our dates mixed up. Instead, we went and saw Mike and Joe - a very impressive cover band. You can see them at Mikeandjoe.com and even download music for free. I really like their sound. Check em out - at the concert we met some girls and then caught up with them again on Sunday night at a sports bar where we all talked about teaching, our youth, grown up life, etc. It was fun. Called it a night around four, up at seven to get on the train for an hour...then off back here to KC. It was kinda strange coming home - I really love teaching and things are going great but when I got here there was a bizzare tightenning in my stomach and chest at the thought of working and taking care of real life responsibilities. I have talked about this tightening with another friend of mine. It must be contagious! blast!! who knows. But overall, an excellent weekend. I wish I could travel and play all my life, well someone's gotta teach tomorrow's youth right? that's me my friend!
