Another Trip Up North...and then down south in a night

Wedding

Well, this past weekend was quite the roll of an adventure...whatever that means. Here's the gameplan as it went down. First off, I was fortunate enough to get three days off of school due to a the fierceness of winter. Luckily that enabled me not to have to take a single personal day off work for our trip. What trip you say? This past weekend BJ and I traveled north to Mason City IA on Thursday night where we stayed with Dusty until morning. Then the three of us traveled to Stillwater Minnesota in the afternoon for a wedding. Following the wedding a caravan of people (about 10-11) began the long journey south to St. Louis, using a highway system known as the Avenue of the Saints (thus named because they connect st. paul and st. louis) Had to mention that cause I thought it sounded like we were in a movie. We left Stillwater about 1030PM and after several stops...one because I just woke up in the car and was so 'out of it' I basically made us get off the highway because I thought we were going in the wrong direction. (Yeah never wake me up and ask me to do anything mentally engaging...like breathing or talking) We arrived in St. Louis at about 8 oclock and preceded to sleep and veg most of the day. Well I did. The rest of the crew went to another wedding Sat. afternoon. What an adventure. So those are the facts - here are the thoughts. I mean you gotta figure with 20 hours of driving in one weekend, Ty is bound to have done quite a bit of thinking and reflection.
When you go to weddings it is almost a sure bet that you are going to think of relationships and your own love life or lack there of...in my case lack there of - at least from where I see it - others disagree. But I'll discuss all this in another entry. I also realized a very important lesson - your mouth can be used with words to really hurt someone. This weekend Elisa and I played a little joke on some people that didn't go over like we thought. Basically we didn't really think what we were doing all the way through. More practically, for those of you who know what I'm talking about, you've heard the phrase think before you open your mouth - let's just say that can apply in more ways than one! Definitely a joke that will probably be remembered for a while - who knows maybe we'll laugh more later. I have a billion more thoughts from the weekend, two mostly - love and moving - but I wanted to say that it was good seeing everyone, especially Dusty, Dylan, and Slaten. You gentlemen are top notch guys to hang around - and Dusty I agree about the kicker...rookie kicker, oops on that call - who would have thought. Hopefully I will talk to many of you soon - and continue to pray for blessings in your life. Dusty and BJ - for you I will pray for all of God's intangible blessings...since you liked those better anyway!
