Where are we? Where is He?

Despair...

It's beyond my ability to understand how a loving God allows this kind of pain. I know, there are so many of you who use the whole "it's because of the fall" bit. I suppose that's alright, I mean, keep telling yourself that - and it's not that I disagree, but you and I both know it doesn't really put you at ease - it's just something we say so that our intellectual theology can somewhat try to echo our hearts and emotions - but that's all it is, an echo of a possible answer. It's definitely not the real thing, because it doesn't wipe away the tears of the people down south crying. Really, I'd rather sit in the silence and the mystery of who God is and how this happens, rather than give myself a comforting answer that is far from the entire story. The truth is, if you start reading the scripture, God is far from comforting in terms of emotions throughout the story of his word - time and time again people are not comforted, rather it's quite the opposite. Nonetheless, we have a mysterious, loving, seeking, God, who I believe, is eager to show us His Kingdom...I'm not going to attempt to answer questions as to who God is and his character - rather, I'd like to sit in the silence of Him...and listen to what He has to say - even if it's nothing at all. Blessed be your name

no, it really is the fall. it doesn't wipe the tears away... it washes them away.
Tyler, without the Fall, there would be no death. So, yes, it is because of the Fall; but, yes, that fact won't comfort us, only the Comforter can do that. Unfortunately, sometimes pain (physical or emotional) is the only way He can get someone's attention. Oftentimes, it is only when we are truly broken that we will look up. So He breaks us, then draws us to Him for healing.
