I Will Be Free
Loving Loss
by Caleb Carruth
too good for me
our conversations weren't enough
shallow smile painted words and my selfish motives
passed my flawed defenses
a trial by fire
someday I will be free
and I know that this pain won't last forever
for it all will be a memory
but alas I love the loss. . .
I used to think I was deep
while staring into my shallow ends
the ends that justified my means
but I know I'm just like the others
falling when near the water
here I come to your feet and as I am my God save me
enter season's change another love is lost
and with the leaving of the weather's wind
another fragrance gone when will it end
someday I will be free
and I know that this pain won't last forever
for it all will be a memory
but alas I love the loss. . .

I just wanted the solidness of this song to speak for itself as far as what was visible on the post - this is one of my all time favorite songs as it relates to the love we feel towards loss and pain in our lives. At points, we almost enjoy the loss and the pain that comes with the tragedy in our lives. For me, it's interesting to look back upon deeper times, painful times, in my life - there was such depth to the emotions, the actual breadth of life then...whereas now - there is a sense of routine that is both faithful but also...dry at times. It's a bizzare thing that in our deepest hurt we are the most alive, perhaps it correlates with the fact that when we are at our weakest...our saddest, our most hurt, broken, and failing - God, for whatever reason, is at our strongest
I know I can call you anytime but somedays I wish you were still here. I know its was your dream to move there and I know one day you will be back but to have you in person is the best. Talk to you later man- Your brother Mike
